Legendary actresses Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field looked amazing in a recent group shot taken at the opening of their new movie 80 For Brady at the Palm Springs International Film Festival in California last week.
Fonda, who is 85 years old, said she was in recovery from cancer and could stop chemo after six months of treatment. This event comes after she made this announcement.
At the time, the actor posted on Instagram, “My oncologist told me last week that my cancer is in remission and I can stop chemo.” I am feeling so blessed, so lucky. I want to thank everyone who prayed for me and thought good things about me.
“I’m sure it had something to do with the good news. I’m especially happy because my first four chemo treatments were pretty easy and only made me tired for a few days. However, the last one was hard and lasted two weeks, which made it hard to do much of anything,” she said.
At the opening, most of the women wore black, but Moreno stood out by wearing a beautiful red scarf with a brooch and a stylish leopard print skirt.
80 for Brady is a comedy about four best friends who go on a crazy trip to see their favorite football player, Tom Brady, play in the 2017 Super Bowl. At the opening, the actors also talked about the movie. Fonda said that meeting Brady in person made her “weak” in the knees.Fonda told The Hollywood Reporter, “He was kind and humble, which is hard to believe given how talented he is, but it’s true. He was also kind and respectful.
“When he walked into my room, I got weak in the knees. That kind of skill amazes me. When someone is the best at what they do in the whole world, you have to accept and honor that. I was just blown away.”Tomlin agreed and said, “Well, I guess it was pretty great.” He can play well. He’s friendly and doesn’t try to show off. Just looking at his eyes and face and seeing how he listens to me as an actress trying to do the same thing. I felt like I was that real 80-year-old woman from Boston. I felt like he was my son when we had to give this speech together.”
Last year, Brady told The Hollywood Reporter, “We found the most amazing ladies. Sally, Lily, Jane, and Rita. They made it all come to life. At the end of the day, it was so cool to see them play and perform.”The US premiere of 80 for Brady is set for January 28.
